Cypress baptist church master plan
Cypress Baptist Church has enjoyed steady growth since its grassroots formation in private homes in the Benton, LA area in the late 1970s. Since the purchase of land and construction of their first permanent home for the church (1979), Cypress has added various structures including a Preschool/Daycare Building (1981), a Family Life Center (1986), and Educational Building (1993) and most recently a new Worship Center (1999). Continued growth produced a need and desire within the membership to consider further additions, renovations and reorganization.
SBB Architects worked with the church to develop a cohesive master plan for the current property. The plan involves phasing in order to manage and maximize church funds. During the earliest phases, a new 300+ space parking lot will remedy current parking insufficiencies, followed shortly by reorganization and simplification of the vehicular and pedestrian circulation throughout the campus. Additionally, a new 2400-seat Sanctuary, Administration, Nursery and Choir Suite will be centrally located and serve to connect both current and future buildings. There are plans to remodel the current Worship Center for Fellowship and classroom functions. Later phases include the construction of a New Family Life Center and additional parking.
