The Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana had need for a clean room manufacturing facility designed for manufacture of monoclonal products; the facility was designed to both accommodate a specific tenant and to be flexible to accommodate other biotechnology manufacturers in the future. SBB

Architects collaborated with scientists and process engineers to refine the manufacturing process and the functional flow for the start-up company tenant and coordinated purchase of specialized lab and manufacturing equipment and provided full architecture and interior design services.  This facility is designed for validation by the FDA as a “GMP” facility; clean rooms were stick built design to save cost over modular systems and were designed to class 10,000 with certain spaces to class 100. The clean room manufacturing labs include: cell culture, bioreactor, purification/ conjugation, sterile fill / packaging and buffer manufacturing. Also included are QA/QC labs and a BL3 lab for handling HIV virus.
